The contamination issue was flagged after FSIS received a tip regarding the presence of a cleaning solution in the products. A scientific assessment by FSIS determined that the risk of adverse health consequences from consuming the affected products is negligible. To date, no reports of illness or adverse reactions have been confirmed.
What Consumers Should Do
FSIS urges consumers and foodservice providers to check their refrigerators and freezers for the affected products. Consumers should not consume these products, and foodservice establishments should not serve them. Instead, the products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.
Anyone experiencing health concerns related to the consumption of these products should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS continues to monitor the situation and advises consumers to stay informed about food safety alerts.
