In a bold fusion of tradition and technology, Carlsberg Sweden and freight tech company Einride have teamed up to launch a limited-edition, alcohol-free beer—delivered entirely via electric and AI-powered transport.
Unveiled on April 15, 2025, the initiative showcases Carlsberg’s continued innovation in brewing and sustainability, while demonstrating the real-world application of Einride’s cutting-edge freight solutions. Named “Electric Beer,” the product represents a milestone in eco-conscious distribution and is brewed using renewable energy sources.
Electric-Powered Delivery, AI-Powered Efficiency
The launch coincides with the second wave of Einride’s collaboration with Carlsberg Sweden. Once fully scaled later this year, Einride’s electric, autonomous freight solutions are expected to handle 35-40% of Carlsberg Sweden’s transportation in the southern and western regions.
“Carlsberg has a legacy in brewing excellence, and now they’re pushing that legacy forward with advanced freight technology,” said Linnéa Kornehed Falck, Founder and Deputy CEO of Einride. “This isn’t just about sustainability; it’s about pushing the boundaries of freight technology.”
More Than Just a Beer
Electric Beer cans come with a unique QR code that allows consumers to access in-depth information about the brewing process and the product’s transportation journey. One featured route—connecting Malmö, Falkenberg, and Gothenburg—offers insight into how goods are being moved using zero-emission technologies.
This partnership not only reflects Carlsberg’s commitment to sustainability but also positions Einride at the forefront of smart logistics, illustrating what’s possible when legacy brands embrace the future.
