Job Purpose and Impact
The FIBI India Packaging Innovation Manager is expected to develop and introduce new packaging solutions that satisfy the consumer, customer in the region, in line with business strategy & new product development through launch process. He or she will provide advice and consultation to our internal and external stakeholders about the best nutritional solutions and technologies, by partnering and working alongside the local commercial and technical teams. We seek a professional to fulfill this crucial role that will enable the business to enhance its commercial growth agenda by bringing its best technology to an exclusive set of prospects throughout the region.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and manage strategic innovation projects for FIBI India and provide expertise in assessing new business opportunities and setting priorities in our innovation pipeline. Translated from a customer-oriented needs.
- Support internal feasibility assessments on new product/package development in terms of consumer acceptance/ technical/cost & lead time together with cross functional team.
- Lead new package development life cycle of:
- Concept design/ technology proposal per customer/consumer needs & legal compliant
- Spec & key quality points/ test method definition & validation trials in plant collaborating with manufacturing technology team
- Going package issue & change management collaborating with quality team
- Develop & Manage end to end package cost reduction masterplan together with Procurement team
- Proactively investigate on package trends and lead packaging portfolio renewal and participate in strategy setting enabling us to deliver on business promises
- Strongly influence and shape the customer’s perception of the company as a forward thinking innovator with regards to packaging
- Build strong network & eco system with lead global supplier for technology trend & capable local suppliers for best fit solution development.
- Conduct Competitive Analysis of key competitors in market
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience of packaging development roles
- Strong interest and passion around new materials technology
- Working Knowledge of the key materials for category – flexibles pouches, big bags in PE/WPP/ Paper bags & corrugated cases
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or other post-secondary degree in a technical discipline such as packaging, food processing, mechanical or chemical engineering
- Strong interest and passion around new materials technology
- Ideally coming from food product industry or FMCG industry with packaging development background.
