We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join India Food Safety and Compliance team as a Food Safety Manager in our Food Safety team. IN Food safety program vision is to protect Amazon customers and to gain their trust by ensuring that food products on our market place are safe, statutorily compliant and meet relevant defined quality expectations. We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Food Safety team and lead Food Safety operations to assure regulatory and operational compliance. Key job responsibilities
• Establish a process to review and update local and global Operations Food Safety policies. Implement a mechanism to perform periodic reviews of all policies and business facing resources (e.g. Wikis) for relevance and content updates.
• Continually evaluate business facing, Operations Food Safety training solutions, for quality, impact, and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to identify knowledge and skill gaps and design learning initiatives to address these gaps. Assess current training materials and delivery approaches and propose alternative solutions in training delivery, leveraging various mediums.
• Initiate change on a global scale and write policies, standards, and SOPs for multiple businesses.
• Drive innovation through metric ownership and automation for the Operations Food Safety team partnering closely with Business Intelligence engineers. Drive food safety compliance across multiple food businesses by analyzing data to identify trends.
• Leverage technology to automate and manage compliance processes;
A day in the life
The Food Safety Manager is crucial to building new programs, improving existing processes, and executing food safety and compliance initiatives. The candidate will work cross-functionally with other Food Safety team members, Legal, Operations and Business stakeholders.
About the team
The IN Operations Food Safety & Compliance team provides food safety subject matter expertise for Amazon’s IN food businesses. Our mission is to build and maintain the trust of our customers by assuring the safety and quality of Amazon’s ingestible products. We deliver on this mission with science-based, data-driven programs that we continuously improve for the benefit of our customers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in business management, Food Science, or related field, and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in program management , managing and driving the FS Ops independently in south region.
- Knowledge of FSSAI Act and regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements and metrics.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic culture.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and execution. · Demonstrated experience creating sustainable processes.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business needs Good Analytical skills Knowledge of SQL will be additional advantage
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Food Science, or related field, and a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing Food Safety and Quality in Retail grocery, food service or food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of FSSAI Act and regulations.
- Experience managing people/teams that are based in the field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements and metrics.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic culture.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and execution.
- Demonstrated experience creating sustainable processes.
- Experience managing people/teams that are based in the field. Good Analytical skills Knowledge of SQL will be additional advantage
