MoFPI – NIFTEM-T – SRMIST Kattankulathur – Chennai – Organising National Millet Summit 2023 @ SRMIST Kattankulathur Campus, Chennai, from 6th to 7th May 2023 – Seeking participation in Events & Expo – Reg.
I am pleased to mention that the MoFPI-NIFTEM-T has been keen in facilitating millet stakeholders across the country by organising promotional events and expos. Marking the significance of International Year of Millets 2023, a series of events are scheduled to organise across the country.
First of its kind in series, a National Millet Summit is being organised by the NIFTEM, Thanjavur in association with SRMIST Kattankulathur – Chennai.
The “National Millet Summit 2023 is organised on the Theme “Millets: Science, Technology & Innovation” during 6th & 7th May 2023 at the SRMIST Kattankulathur Campus, Chennai.
The summit focuses on key areas in millet value chain such as; technological advancements, novel product options for niche markets, interventions on national nutrition mission, strategies for nurturing entrepreneurs, FPOs and farmers, enabling start-ups, skill promotion and employment generation, market and export promotion strategies, sharing of cases of successful entrepreneurs.
Besides series of lectures and interactions, a panel discussion on futuristic goal setting, an exhibition to demonstrate the advances of millet science, technology and innovation to the visitors is also proposed.
The events organised as part of the summit are:
- One-day Workshop for 3000 participants (Delegation of Scientists, industrialists, FPOs, SHGs and Students) on 6th May 2023.
- Two-day Expo accommodating 200 stalls (Private agencies, Government Departments, Academic institutions, FPOs, SHGs, NGOs and other stakeholders) on 6th & 7th May 2023.
- B to B & B to C Meets & sharing of success stories on 6th & 7th May 2023.
- Competitions on creative skills for students other stakeholders.
- Awards & Recognition for millet stakeholders
