Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a statutory Authority set up under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import, to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.

FSSAI proposes to fill-up various positions from officers holding regular position in the Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories or Govt. Universities or Recognized Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi–Government, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations on transfer on deputation (including short-term contract) on foreign service terms basis as per the details contained in Annexure–I. Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria & having relevant experience, etc.,

Post – Director (Pay Level- 13)

Post – Director (Pay Level- 13)
Position – 2

Officers of the Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories or Universities
or Recognized Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or Semi– Government, Statutory or Autonomous Organisations:
(a) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
(ii) With five years’ regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular
basis in Pay Level 12 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and
(b) possessing the educational qualification as under:
(i) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University or Institution; and
(ii) Fifteen years’ experience in handling administration, finance, human resource development or/and vigilance matters depending on the post requirement.
Desirable: Degree of Law or MBA degree or equivalent from a recognised university or institution
OR

(c) (i) “Master Degree from a recognized University or Institution in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Food Technology or Food Science & Technology or Food & Nutrition or Edible Oil Technology or Microbiology or Dairy Technology or Agricultural or horticultural Sciences or Industrial Microbiology or Toxicology or Public Health or Life Science or Biotechnology or Fruit & Vegetable Technology or Food Safety & Quality Assurance or any other subject as approved by Food Authority from time to time
OR
PG Diploma of at least one year duration from a recognized University or Institution in Food Safety & Quality Assurance (under appropriate nomenclature) and approved by the Food Authority from time to time

OR, BE or B.Tech in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or Biotechnology or Oil Technology or Food Process Engineering or Food Processing Technology or Fruit & Vegetable Technology or Food Safety & Quality Assurance or Bachelor’s degree (not less than four years duration) in Medicine or Veterinary sciences or Fisheries or Animal Sciences or any other subject as approved by Food Authority from time to time and; (ii) with fourteen years experience of working in research or development in Laboratories or Research Institutions or Scientific Organisations in the field of food science or standards or safety out of which at least five years should be as group leader or in a supervisory capacity and should have handled food science related programmes involving planning, development and coordination;

(d) (i) Doctorate Degree in any of the aforesaid subjects with twelve years experience of working in research or development in Laboratories or Research Institutions or Scientific Organisations in the field of food science or standards or safety out of which at least five years should be as group leader or in a supervisory capacity and should have handled food science related programmes involving planning, development and coordination; and (ii) should have published research work in related field.

(b) (i) Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University or Institution; and (ii) Twelve Years’ experience in handling administration, finance, human resource development or/ and vigilance matters depending on the post requirement. Desirable: MBA degree or equivalent from a HR-12017/4/2024-HR-FSSAI I/27220/2025 recognised university or Institution OR

(c) Full time Degree of Law from a recognised University or institution with twelve years’ experience of handling legal matters or working experience as Law Officer in a reputed Government or Autonomous body or Research Institutions or Universities or Public Sector Undertakings or Law firms. OR

(d) (i) “Master Degree from a recognized University or Institution in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Food Technology or Food Science & Technology or Food & Nutrition or Edible Oil Technology or Microbiology or Dairy Technology or Agricultural or horticultural Sciences or Industrial Microbiology or Toxicology or Public Health or Life Science or Biotechnology or Fruit & Vegetable Technology or Food Safety & Quality Assurance or any other subject as approved by Food Authority from time to time OR PG Diploma of at least one year duration from a recognized University or Institution in Food Safety and Quality Assurance (under appropriate nomenclature) and approved by the Food Authority from time to time. The last date for receipt of hard copy of application through proper channel is 15.05.2025.

The hard copy of online application form duly certified by the employer along with “Certificate by the employer/Cadre Controlling Authority” in the prescribed format and other supporting certificates/documents (Integrity certificate, vigilance clearance, Major/Minor penalty imposed during the last ten years and up to-date duly certified photocopies of APARs for the last 5 years) must reach through proper channel to Assistant Director, Recruitment Cell, FSSAI Headquarters, 312, 3rdFloor, FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road New Delhi by 15.05.2025 for further necessary action.
