Fortify Health is hiring a Program Officer for our Open Market team. The Program Officer will assist with the onboarding of new mills, and support the launch and extension of fortification in mill partners. They will assist the program team in ensuring that fortification work in the partner mills is conducted as per the standards set by Fortify Health.
This includes supporting mill partnerships end-to-end, from the initial onboarding stage all the way to ensuring that 100% of the mill’s atta production is fortified. The Program Officer will collaborate with both the Monitoring, Evaluation and Research team and the Regulatory Affairs team at Fortify Health to ensure smooth implementation and monitoring of fortification in mill partners. Therefore, Programs Officers are essential to the growth of Fortify Health.
The Program Officer will report to Fortify Health’s Senior Program Officer for their geography.
Team: Programs: Open- Market
Contractor Fee: INR 74,326 per month (non-negotiable)
Location: Chandigarh, Patna, Ranchi, Surat, Bareilly, Jodhpur, and Jammu (Subject to change as per the requirement)
Terms of employment: Contract for one year, renewal by mutual agreement

Responsibilities and activities
- Facilitate onboarding of mills and provide technical support to partner mills
- Relationship building
- Identify new mills to reach out for partnership, and foster relationships with these mills.
- Support generation of strong networks within the milling industry and with equipment vendors.
- Supporting with mill launch
- Oversee smooth installation of fortification equipment in partner mills.
- Provide technical advice and support to miller partners on all stages of the implementation and fortification process.
- Visiting mills
- Coordinate and attend visits to mills with Fortify Health’s technical consultants in the Quality and Regulatory teams.
- Relationship building
- Contribute to Fortify Health’s research and improvement of operations
- Collaborate with other teams at Fortify Health to ensure that their findings are used to improve Programs team operations.

Candidate profile
Requirements
- Willingness to travel around 60% of the time (this may include within base location).
- Professional fluency in Hindi, and professional proficiency in English.
- Expertise:
- Experience / background in the milling industry, with a good technical understanding of mill setup and machinery
- Execution:
- Ability to document key information accurately and clearly.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work effectively on multiple projects.
- Collaboration:
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Communication:
- Able to communicate key points clearly, both verbally and in written communication.
- Problem Solving:
- Ability to identify problems and work proactively to determine solutions.

Desirable attributes
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (food technology, nutrition, etc.)
- Experience in working in the milling sector.

- Proficiency in other local languages.
