Leading food delivery platform Swiggy has rolled out the ‘Swiggy Seal’ initiative, designed to elevate food quality and hygiene standards across its restaurant partners. Initially launched in Pune, this program will expand to over 650 cities across India throughout November, setting new benchmarks in food delivery safety.
The ‘Swiggy Seal’ badge will be displayed on the menus of restaurants that meet Swiggy’s strict hygiene standards, indicating a strong commitment to food safety. This move is driven by insights gathered from over 7 million verified customer reviews, focusing on contamination prevention, optimal cooking standards, and high-quality packaging. Swiggy is dedicated to providing restaurant partners with actionable insights to continually improve their hygiene practices.
For participating restaurants, Swiggy offers verified customer feedback and access to audits by FSSAI-accredited agencies like Eurofins and Equinox. These professional audits, provided at discounted rates, empower restaurants to strengthen their food safety practices. Restaurants that fail to maintain the standards may lose their ‘Swiggy Seal’ badge, reinforcing the platform’s commitment to customer health and trust.
This initiative marks Swiggy’s latest effort to enhance customer experience, aligning with other recent innovations like its ‘XL’ fleet for bulk orders and ‘Bolt,’ a 10-minute delivery service. By ensuring quality at every level, Swiggy continues to drive growth and innovation in India’s food and beverage sector, setting new standards for the industry.
