Union Minister inaugurated a new milk chilling plant of Balinee Milk Producer Company Limited (Balinee MPO) in Bundelkhand, marking a significant step in rural development and women’s empowerment under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme.
The event saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), along with senior officials from NDDB Dairy Services and Balinee MPO.
Praising the entrepreneurial zeal of Bundelkhand’s women, Lalan Singh highlighted the need for further value addition through processing facilities. “Your milk must be processed and branded to enhance your income. I have requested NDDB to consider setting up a processing plant here. Let the market know your product as ‘Produced by Balinee’,” he said.
Secretary Alka Upadhyaya also encouraged the women of Balinee MPO to diversify their ventures. Citing the example of Banas Dairy’s success in potato-based enterprises, she remarked, “You’re organized, capable, and ready. It’s time to explore new business lines alongside dairy.”
This initiative not only enhances dairy infrastructure in the region but also celebrates the transformative role of women entrepreneurs in India’s rural economy.
